Rob regularly gets requests for claddagh rings from clients
looking for something other than the usual claddagh.
Here is his fourth design on the theme.
Caer Ormaith, pronounced KER-or-mayth, was a beautiful
De Danaan maiden who often took the shape of a swan and
lived on Loch Bel Dragon with other swans. Aonghus Og, the
god of love, saw her in a dream and fell hopelessly in love
with her. In order to marry her, he was challenged to go
to Loch Bel Dragon and identify her from among 150 swans.
When he did so, Caer Ormaith accepted his offer of marriage.
The front of the ring has a heart within scrolls forming a
heart frame topped with a crown. Swans in profile hold
each side of the frame. This ring measures 1/2 inch high
from top of crown to point of heart and tapers to an
1/8 inch smooth shank.
